Boinc v6.3.11 is out.

It allows the cruncher to run a GPU WU and all the CPU cores for normal projects. However, this thread on the PS3 grid site suggests it's full of problems.

Is anyone brave enough to try it yet?

I ran a test box for a couple of days with the alternative method using the ncpus work-around. It ran OK, allowing the GPU WU to run and loading all cores fully with the normal CPU WU's. I'm not convinced it's the right thing though, because others report that using ncpus slows down the GPU WU - I can't say myself, the box was a fresh installation and after one slow 8600GT WU, I disconnected it from the project.

I tried it on 1 box and it slowed down the GPU w/u quite substantially.
I'll let it mature before trying again.

On a different note, I'm starting to have some GPU w/u's abort with comp errors. I'm losing some nice times. Anyone else notice this. I think it's just the luck of the draw on what w/u you get. I've had 2 in 3 days.
Buster is my dog. Sadly, Buster is gone.
Buster is the Malamute, Obi is the Golden.

Same problem here The cure for me was this :

Set sched to reset machine every day using shutdown -r this has stopped the out of memory error

For the less tech savy, i have put together a small application that can do it for you! :D

[url]ftp://ftp.drivehq.com/a_salted_peanut/p ... wn.exe[url]

This was made in about 30 mins using Visual Basic 6.0 professional. If you want the source code to compile yourself, or just want to alter it in any way just ask me and i shall forward it onto you.

Features:
- Automatic startup (if you ask it to)
- Auto remember the last time you used to shutdown the PC
- Ability to restart or shutdown at a selected time (24 Hour clock!)

This will be a work in progress and i shall try and make the features a bit more swish in the near future.
