The project will give a max of something like 1180 WU / machine.
Since it will start after Jan 1 you might consider crunching for the Pirates
FB 2017 you know!
BE SURE TO INSTALL THE NEW OPTI APP!!! BIG BOOST OVER THE OLD ONE!

Wont be home for opti apping though and the firewall out here really hates any Polish addresses. Must be set in full Brexit mode

I've got a separate account I'll put on my androids for AP. The dreadnoughts will stay on TSBT.

#7 Re: 02/01-07/01 Enigma - A New Year Challenge
FB2017 for AP is just a bit of fun as league 2 was a real slog for us last year. Most of us were not enjoying it by the end.
Do you have full access now Pete ? You should be able to see another layer of the site.

If you're going to start a different BoincClient after the current one finishes all it's WUs, then you can't can't use the firewall otherwise you'll block downloads to the new clients. Instead, set allow network access to Never on that client so it won't upload. Of course, you won't be able to upload/download WUs for any other project on that client either though.

There's till over 7 days left to build a whopper of a bunker and earn that next Enigma badge! I'll be working towards that last 10 mil amethyst badge. Nearly 5 mil to go though so fat chance of reaching it but it's a start. :)

We need to get this moved to the single board computer forum, but in the mean time I'm sure Dirk will be this like a hobo on a ham sandwich.pinhodecarlos wrote:Anyone of you have one of these?

I've got a similar bay trail. Really good but as mine runs android only seti beta and WUProp has work for it ( Collatz did but no more )

And then they will be much cheaper, easier to cool and able to support much higher RAM and SSD capacity...

AMD Users is getting terrorized by Intel fan-boys vandalizing our homepage, so I can't publish the team challenges over there.
If nothing comes from AMDave's restoration effort I will crunch Enigma for AP, for those pirates on my neighbour island during this challenge.

#17 Re: 02/01-07/01 Enigma - A New Year Challenge
Hopefully enough SUSA folks show up to counter your humongous bunker drop so I don't have to help. In that case I'll be running for the Pirates
I have a feeling I'll have to run for SUSA to play catch up and that might be an exercise in futility.

May be the same underlying cause (Spambotting). Both AMD Users and FreeDC use the same CMS/Forum software.Alez wrote:What's happening over at AMD Dirk ? You guys getting hacked or something ?

FreeDC Forum up -never was really down, we just got misdirected (but that may have been foul play too)- again.Alez wrote:What's happening over at AMD Dirk ? You guys getting hacked or something ?

We're not really hacked, but some spammer as injected code into our CMS that acts as a spambot it seems.
One of our US members also reported a fake -Dutch!- Avast message when visiting our forum, code was hidden in a special WCG signature.

#22 Re: 02/01-07/01 Enigma - A New Year Challenge
That seems like a lot of effort to get to a Boinc Team. Can you PM me the name and email of the user if it was a new user rather than a long term user who got caught out ?

Both my AP droids out of this already as they are droid 5 and droid 6. Just found out you can't use above droid 4 on this project.

#25 Re: 02/01-07/01 Enigma - A New Year Challenge
The change to how formula boinc is run makes it pretty pointless for me or anyone else to run for AP on this challenge.
By going away from RAC based to number of members based they have changed the whole point of the comp from being open to any team regardless of size only limited by effort put in to an inclusive comp for larger teams. I will bet that the sprint events they have planned will show very little change as I doubt that many of the teams will be actively targeting the comp. I think it's fair to say that on almost every team the vast majority are crunch a single project and forget members. By moving to this format they have excluded the majority of dedicated crunchers that are competitive. For instance, MeisterKeuler who ran TSBT so close last year are not in the team list either and OC UK have been relegated to league 3, Sici is league 2 etc.

Crunch for TSBT. Let's have a good showing! Of course, over 2 hours and no challenge update makes me nervousMcShane of TSBT wrote:I was wondering which team I should crunch for in this challenge. #28 Re: 02/01-07/01 Enigma - A New Year Challenge
I hit 100M on Goofy so I just moved over. Besides not being able to get work the server is telling me that .76b needs some 20 digits worth of RAM and I only 19 digits worth of RAM. Those numbers aren't correct, but I think it is giving it in bits. A hell of a note when the machine has 128G of RAM and it isn't enough to run a Enigma WU.
I forgot that when the tiny Enigma server is feeling put upon it shuts down and does nothing. Crap!

Well I guess that since AP is screwed from formula boinc I might as well be back at TSBT. Least we can do is beat Gridcoin.....
Ap was 9th from 16.
Paul, might as well head back as well whilst scole might as well pull the droids back as well.

Damn I'm getting old and sloppy! I moved all machines over from Linux Goofy right after this thing started. I looked at the RACs on the project and I had a 12 thread I7 that was way below what it should be. I looked at the machine and it was running the stock app ... no opti app at all.
So hopefully my hourly numbers will improve a little! Dang it!

We need a diversion. What project are those guys dying to get WUs for? We'll post that the project has WUs available in challenge shout box and see who takes the bait

#45 Re: 02/01-07/01 Enigma - A New Year Challenge
It's going to get interesting ... someone pointed out that if things remain the same then TSBT will overtake them in 24 hours
Speaking of diversions, the new Denis Beta app has work. It has a 10 day deadline so you can load up a machine and immediately come back to Enigma. Star time :)

Two more linux systems to 'enhance'

Unless SUSA finds more resources we might just pull this off. Of course if we do I'm going to have to keep a very low profile when I return home
