Ladies and Gentlemen, I introduce to you the 3rd Pirate challenge on NFS@Home. Since I have called the challenge on my AP account, I will be crunching for Anguillan Pirates, anyone else who fancies a pop at this is welcome to crunch for either TSBT or AP as you wish. All I hope for is that we enjoy the comp and have some banter .... plus AP will be playing no holds barred on this ... :violence-smack:

Here's the skinny for those planning on running NFS with us (or against us)...

-The NFS apps run 25% faster on linux vs win64. That's a big enough margin to make it worth setting up and running NFS on a linux vbox.

- The 16e/lasieve5f app runs 25% faster than the 15e/lasievee app

- The 16e/lasieve5f app pays over 295% more than the 15e/lasievee app and over 361% more than the 14e/lasieved app

I'm too lazy to run the exact numbers but you can earn over 3x as much on NFS running just the 16e/lasieve5f app instead of the 15e/lasievee app. If you are going for max credit run only 16e/lasieve5f. If you are trying to pick up WUProp hours or sub-project badges on the lower paying apps, that is an acceptable excuse for not running just 16e/lasieve5f :-)

Important note though, the 15e/lasievee WUs are using over 1.3GB RAM while the 16e/lasieve5f WUs are using less than 900MB, in case memory is a consideration.

One thing scole's excellent post forgets to mention is that the disparity in credit between 16e and 15e or 14e has been brought up more times than I care to remember and has never been changed, so bottom line is don't feel bad chasing the credit. For maximum bang for you're buck run the 16e app only. Oh and you can either run as an Anguillan Pirate who called the challenge or TSBT who are entered by default..... I'll get my coat now.

I was working on FB Sprint POGS ambush. We went from 8th to 4th. Going to see if we can hold it for 12 points.

I'm not pushing FB. I wanted to get POGS to 100k WUProp hours and the FB Sprint was a good excuse to run it and hopefully pick up a few points to keep TSBT off the bottom.

OK, we can decide closer to the time if we want to have a pop at it next year or try and enter AP and win league 3 :o

We've got Grubcoin wedged in between us at the moment...but they have at the moment 114 active members on it, that's a lot of grubbers!

Well Tejas came packing, still holding 1st, Andrew up to 6th and Alez in 9th! I should have my systems wound up by morning sometime.

This is where we hold them by the nose and you kick them in the arse!

That #1 spot I'm currently holding will not last long. I came prepared with a 2 day bunker, my daily output is far less.

And SETI.USA and Seti.Germany have joined the fun too, not to mention the froggies of LAF.

Still waiting for my kid to wind my bloody systems up. He's about to get his ass kicked by messenger. Time to start threatening to pull funding of his kart racing etc. me thinks. Not a happy pappy ....... and one of my systems is claiming that the memory modules are shredded. The joys.
Welcome onboard Tejas, great to have you with us and posting.
ps I'm now holding 14th and 85th position

Well that's my output a little more reasonable. Hopefully I'll be flying home tonight, so should be able to coax a few more systems into life and replace the memory modules in the borked server, unless of course I simply get pi$$ed on the way home :o Image
Bottle of Rum at duty free anyone ? :shhh:
