29 teams taking part....suppose I could make a bit of an effort

Not sure how much it will be though as I am in the middle of redecorating. Place is a building site

Never a dull day in the Alez household. You always seem to be up to something!

and sometimes thats not such a good thing. Currently trying to reinstall drivers for my R9 and 7970. Crashville at the mo...... and the 6990 isn't behaving either

Ebay that 6990 and replace it with a 7970. The 6990 (both cores together) are slower than a 7970 (at least mine was on Milkyway and Collatz), it's noisy and a power hog. This under Win 7 64, Catalyst 12.10. Or did mine have a problem?

Oops. The challenge has started without me again.
Not to worry, I will get something on it.
We are in 4th but probably not for long.

There are some big teams on our heels.

Both cores are a bit slower, but then again everything is slower than a 7970

My one isn't noisy but it has the arctic aftermarket coolers installed, as for power.... just shut my eyes and pay the lecky bill

I found that having use all gpu's set caused it to run slow for sure. Removed that from the config and it ran far better. Overclock it a bit to 880 or so and it's not that much slower.
Hopefully that's the r9 / 7970 combo of is Orac back online. PSU regulator board for fan dead, so no cooling. Have powered the fan to 100% by jumping the connection within the psu. Should be ok for a while I guess. We will see.
The 6990 system still down. Seems the hard drive has cratered. Another hdd being prepared so fingers crossed.
Not much redecorating getting done

...except for a 7990. I was silly enough to think I was going to win one for $300 on Ebay.

I was happily crunching away till some point this afternoon when my broadband/router decided it was going to take the rest of the day off
Finally manged to reset it and I'm back up and running, only lost 10 hours

Good to have you back in scrap Paul. You're putting some distance between us and L'Alliance Francophone. We need our heavy hitters.
Megacruncher, take one for the team and lets see if we can take 4th back!Rumor at the local university math department is Collatz Conjecture has been disproved

at that price I'll have 2...... or maybe 3.
seems things are not going smooth on this comp at all.

The 6990 system is toast. Seems the mobo no longer has an ide / sata controller. Guess the chip is toast. More scrap for the pile from when the power decided to no longer be 250 v. I'll need to get a new board then.

We are 5th of 27 which is pretty respectable.
But, flattered by your appeal, I shall pull out all the stops [most at least] to see if I can improve our standing to 4th.
I mean, it's not as I actually wanted to improve my all time combined ranking beyond 69.

You really should sue your 'lecky supplier and charge all the replacements/upgrades to them.

If only the European Human Rights act covered such valuable items , then I wouldn't have to get another cat or a budgie

Looks like we've settled into 5th for the time. Anyone know where Clancy is? I miss the team stats. I use it for a quick snapshot to make sure things appear to be running.

Clancy has apparently gone back to his texas instruments roots and is currently unavailable. Try this link instead to see yourself on DC stats

Missing my 6990 and 2 X 7770's contributions, . Currently down in 23rd

If I hit the Powerball lottery jackpot tonight, I'll overnight you and any other teammates, a couple R9 295x2s. Wish me luck.

You don't need to overnight mine... that would be greedy

If the new boards turn up in time at least the 6990 might be up again by the end of the challenge.... maybe. At least they are more asus ws boards, not so impressed with gigabyte boards at the mo

and I need to go do the recycling

It's only combined view 2 which is broken.
Other pages such as the utterly overwhelming combined view 1
http://www.ubtstats.co.uk/tsbt/SC.php?cs=1&sz=2&rp=0 are still available.
I'll PM Temujin. I think Clancy might just be his assistant.

Well, sorry lads. 295x2s for everyone isn't going to happen this time, but keep wishing me luck. I'm always in the draw.
Janos, glad our Milkway stalwart is back.

Day and a half to go, 5th from 29 seems pretty secure. Don't think there will be much change in the individual positions as well. Competition has been a bit static compared to the last challenge.

4 hours to go and 5th it most certainly will be: We are gaining on the Russians but not fast enough to catch them at this stage. I think that they have realised that they are safe in 4th & have eased off.
