It's a very elite leader board. You will find them at the top few positions of most projects and in the top 100 in Boinc overall by points and RAC. When they get together, there are very few teams that can compete with them. We're in 3rd and taking 2nd would be a big challenge as it is.

Make that 4.
I just added this project but don't know how much I can help. I am going to try and get a solid 6 cores on it by tomorrow. Have a lot of projects that are still finishing up.

Thanks!
I'm on the board #47 but lists me as new user. Did I miss something?

No, nothing missed, takes a while before your name and team lines up in boincstats since you had not previously crunched this project. Normally will be sorted by the daily update, but as your credit is already being added to the team score nothing to worry about.

Seems we have hit stalemate, safe in 3rd, can't catch 2nd, safe from 4th. Crunch on all.

I'm guessing the 7.56 million we require to take first is somewhat of a longshot

it almost feels like he's cheating with those kinda numbers.
Wonder what he has for computing power ...

It's not a core 2 duo - that's for sure!

Well done guys, it looks like second place is in the bag which given the, frankly rather vulgar, dominance of SETI.USA, is a real moral victory. I mean to say, it's as if Usain Bolt turned at a primary schools sports day and insisted on beating all the 10 year olds by as wide a margin as possible.
I've turned up rather late in the day, as can be inferred by my current placing as 54th of 55!

I'll settle for top 50,

I have the funny feeling this is going to be one of the rare occasions that I place ahead of you Mega
I hope I can hang onto a top 20 spot

well said.
Does this happen all the time with them?

Most of the challenges are won before they are even started by some big and well prepared team or other. Not always SETI.USA So getting second place is rather unusual & good.
Anyway this project pays rather well. Just a few hours in I'm up to 10K and 33rd place. I'm aiming for top 25 now. 8)

The race is run and we came a decisive 2nd. :) 8)
In the individual stakes we were all in the first half of the field.
Alezevo1 15th
Paul 19th
Megacruncher 22nd
Skywalker 23rd
Storme 25th
All very :wav:
Well done guys.

Well that was a result, I thought 4th was looking dodgy at one point!
And I'll take a top 20 finish anytime.
Onto the next one then :)
