Hmm, Eight Hours in and we are a measly 8th out of fourteen.
Anyone want to spare a core for this project?

5th Now.
Sicituradastra ................. 1 . 1,395,035
CSUF Physics Dept ......... 2 ... 249,710
BOINC@Poland ............... 3 ... 186,040
L'Alliance Francophone .... 4 ..... 24,894
The Scottish Boinc Team . 5 ...... 17,741
Team China ................... 6 ...... 3,593
NFS is quite generous with the credits so 12 cores or so on it in 24 hrs has netted me over 10K. All to play for! Okay just 4th place to play for, but that's something. :)

Uh!...Oh! Looks like I'm gonna get steam-rollered by Steve on ViP... There goes my hat-trick (1st in sign-up date, 1st in Team, 1st in Country...

...Well it was nice while it lasted and maybe we'll go up a place or two in the UK. 8)
Meantime, let's see if we can have a little fun with AF...

With just under 2 days left the French are holding us off and even drawing a little further ahead:
L'Alliance Francophone .... 4 . 58,067
The Scottish Boinc Team . 5 . 51,136
So, I'm pulling all the stops out and putting all my CPU cores onto NFS. Any extra help will be gratefully received.

Now that was a joy to see!....
:wav:
'fraid I wont be able to do more than I'm doing at the moment the NFS WUs tend to crash my other junk heaps (even the 15es).

We moved up to 4th possibly as much due to the French losing pace as us picking it up. Hopefully they don't have a mighty cache of completed WUs saved up for the last day.
Any Hoo, with just over 24hrs to go the position is:
The Scottish Boinc Team .. 4 . 72,536
L'Alliance Francophone ..... 5 . 66,980
So, a health lead & grounds for some quiet optimism, but no room for complacency.

Excellent, I thought I detected the welcome morning smell of toast.

We have now nearly a 12K lead over the french with just 16 hrs to go!

For a late supper perhaps: 6 hours to run, some caches to empty and a cushion of 19K. Should be enough.

Sorry Pinky did no realise you were going for the hat trick. Just have to take one for the team. Now second in the uk charts and a very minor success at VRS 3 to 1st in 4 days

Dinna fash yesel - I already had the hat-trick for most of the year, which is fine by me. So it's thanks for the help in getting us to the no.2 position and let's go for no.1 ! (I'll keep chipping away s'long as the project's got jobs...)
... ViP and VRS... You going through the projects alphabetically or is it just a coincidence ?
