Any particular period which interests you? It all gets very interesting from 1689 onwards (and we still haven't fully come to terms with it)

Ah well, my homeland of Orkney has got more history than most. There are literally hundreds of places older than the Pyramids in Egypt. Have a google around for : Skara Brae, Ness of Brodgar, Ring of Brodgar, Maeshowe, Tomb of the Eagles and countless Brochs and Chambered Cairns. Neolithic Orkney is a Unesco World Heritage site
