I updated the table with boost and base clock stats. The first version only had boost stats. To be honest, I'm not sure the boost stats are accurate because I saw a table somewhere showing the Watts pulled for boost higher than the Watts pulled at base clock speed. Will try to find that info and update again. Also note GFLOPS/$ is based on an average price found on Amazon. OC GPUs generally cost more than base models.

Well I rebuilt all the tables in this thread and then went and bought a GTX 970 to replace my dead 660ti's. Wouldn't be so bad but it's not in the tables so not sure what I've got in comparision. Should be better than the 660 ti's though .....

So I've bought a bunch of 970's and 980's but now I have an option on a 1080..... is it worth double a 980 ?

I looked at a machine on AN running a GTX 980 and found a WU where his wingman had a 1080:

980 1,836.87s
1080 931.03s

The kernel size on the 980 was set to 21 and the 1080 was at 20 so the 1080 would be even quicker if it was set to 21 also.

It looks like 2x is a valid number Alez. I guess the question is whether the 1080 you're looking at is one of the "founder editions" that were slower than the "gaming" 1080s.

Pete, I don't use the DVI conectors on any of my systems. What I did was buy a bunch of cheap USB mice and keyboards and used a cheap and cheerful HDMI TV switch to connect to a monitor. Maybe worth considering ?
For me also I have my systems split. All nVideas run under win 7 and most of my AMD's are under Linux. I have no systems anymore with a mix of the two makes.
From what I can see there doesn't seem to be the huge difference between the 980's and the 1080's like the upgrades I have done from the 6 series cards. Basically you get double the power for slightly more than double the price, so bottom line is slot availability for the cards.

I finally let go of my HD 7970s. Wife sold 3 of them on Ebay already. On the flip side, I needed a GPU for a rig so I picked up another 1080. What shall we crunch?

Not heard much about the new amd cards, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they'll be good though.
I just got the GTX 1080. So far I am super impressed. Anyone else here got theirs?

What projects have you run WUs on it so far?

I got the 1080 after some deliberation and I feel it's well worth the money and gives a lot better performance.

I agree. And if you have the hybrid cooled versions, they can run at high utilization, 95+%, it's still fairly quiet.
