More information about the contest:
PrimeGrid: International Bacon Day Challenge starts September 3rd
In honor of the day arbitrarily chosen by three graduate students at the University of Colorado Boulder to celebrate this notorious breakfast meat, PrimeGrid will be running a 3-day PPSE-LLR challenge from 3 September 00:00 UTC to 6 September 00:00 UTC.
Work units from the Proth Prime Search Extended (LLR) project, which are downloaded and completed during the challenge will count towards your challenge score.
The work units are big enough to earn you a spot on the Top 5000 list if you score a prime, but small enough that your chances are as high as 1 in 30,000 per task! That might not sound like a lot, but an average 4-core CPU can churn out nearly 300 per day. Best of luck!
Inquiries? Inspirations? Introspections? Do you have a finite Bacon Number? Tell us in the forum thread for this challenge: https://www.primegrid.com/forum_thread.php?id=9271

Unfortunately, some of the PrimeGrid challenges have overlapped with Formula Boinc Sprints. Otherwise we would hit it full on. Maybe PrimeGrid will be chosen as the project for the FB Sprint starting on the 4th.

Ahoy Mate:
Can you tell me why my computer changed to using 10 cpu's for only 1 task and the best I can get is using 10 more for another task, yet I have 36 cpu's. I need to set it back so it is 1 cpu for 1 task.
Appreciated.

Multi-threading: Max # of threads for each task
(Only applies to LLR and AP27 CPU tasks)
to 1

Our team is in 20th place right now with just scole and Gibson doing most of the work, but with the great help from Major General scole, my big ship is finally steaming ahead at flank speed in support. With only a day and a few hours to go, we hope to get into the top 15.

Good news to report in the PG Challenge. We are still in 20th place, but gaining rapidly on the Storm who is in 19th place. At this rate by evening we shall be 19th. Go TSBT!
I wonder how our team is doing in the sprint. Hope very well.

tng* obviously has access to systems at a data center (or he's leasing systems). He has some Xeon Gold 6140 (18c/36t) systems partitioned into a bunch of 3 thread systems. Why partition them out like that?

No wonder he is so far ahead of the rest. On a happy note in the PG Challenge we overtook Storm for 19th place and gaining on no. 18 BOINC Stats. If anyone wants to crunch a few tasks you are welcome to join us we have 25.5 hours left to catch as many teams a s we can.

That is one way to have 1617 computers. What does that do with the electric bill. Mine is about $300 for the 4 computers a month. Just guessing about it.

As the sun is setting in the deep sea the pursuit after other ships is at full speed. We are still in 19th place and at last sightings the enemy ships also increased their speed. We will just have to wait and see what the new day will bring.

It is a new day on the high seas and the chase was fast and faster all night. As the sun is rising on the horizon our team TSBT moved up to 17th place with all four ships in on the pursuit: Gibson, scole, McLean and the Hungarian Navy's fast cruiser.
We have lookouts hoping to catch sight of another TSBT ship, also would like to catch number 16 within the range of our guns by the time the sun will be high above.

With sun rising on the horizon so is our speed, especially scole who must have thrown more coal into the oven to speed up. We have gained on TeAm AnandTech and soon we will see them.
If you are not occupying your computer with another project and you could spare a couple of hours(these work units get done pretty fast 15-22 minutes on my rig) it could mean the difference in moving up a couple of places. Go TSBT!
Hale us when you are moving.

You are correct General bryan. However we still have a chance to move up in the next few hours, but we could use a carrier and maybe a sub too.
We are steaming at full speed(looking at my gauges) and do not want to red line it. Our engines were down several hours yesterday before General scole was able to restart them around noon. Since last night all rigs have a man watching their temperatures.
Just say we are on our way and we shall be looking for any and all team mates.

You must run the PPSE LLR app to score. Set PG prefs to only use 1 thread per WU.

Congratulations! Our records indicate that a computer registered by you has found a unique prime number. This computer is running BOINC, is attached to the PrimeGrid project, and is assigned to the Proth Prime Search. What makes this prime unique is that it's large enough to enter the Top 5000 List in Chris Caldwell's The Largest Known Primes Database.
Since you have auto-reporting selected, the following prime was submitted on your behalf:
Added 131223 : 5575*2^1586970+1 (477730 digits)
This prime was found on this workunit which will automatically show as a prime result after verification by the Largest Known Primes Database.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us and we will surely resolve any problems.
Once again, congratulations on your find! Thank you for participating in PrimeGrid.
