Is it better to have 4x 4GB DIMMs or 2x 8GB DIMMs?

Do whatever is cheapest, unless overclocking, then go 2x8. That seems to be the consensus from TomsHardware and the Overclockers forum.

2x8Gb gives you the opportunity for 4x8Gb by buying just two more sticks. When you have 4x4Gb and want more it will be more expensive to get to 32 Gb...
