#1 Boinc on main Linux workstation

Post by davidbam »

I've never had much success with GPU crunching on the main Linux machine I use for RL work. Until today.

I have been using Ubunto 19.10 on a Ryzen 3900X with an old AMD card to run X11 and an nVidia 1660ti to crunch Moo. Seems to work pretty well - no slow-down on X11 - even when playing videos with 24WU of NFS filling the threads.

Damned handy if it proves to be stable
I think this is fool-proof but could you just try it for me please? • There are 10 types of people in the world; those who understand binary, and those who don’t

That sounds like a nifty setup that I might want to emulate one of these days...
