#1 GTX 260 RIP

Post by rowpie »

Well one of my cards bit the dust after 14 months of pretty much full load gaming and boinc.

Interesting thing is that it seems to be just the fan that has failed. (bearing feels screwed) Trust me it was a wonderful noise when it happened!

Seeing as something has actually broke and its not unstable (because other than that the card works fine.) im going to try and RMA it to XFX (2 year warranty) but i aint getting my hopes up as GTX 260's are in fairly short supply.

could be an excuse to upgrade mine you.... hmm. :D

Sounds familair..I've blown a GTX260 too, which was reduced to a ugly sound making PCIe contraption. My power bill got the better of it btw, those GTX260s burn a lot of Watts...
