Just went to the North.. (at least the worst of it)
No Tornado's as of yet.. Still might be some 2" hail.
These storms are normal for May in this area.

I fear hail. It can do terrible damage. The baseball size stuff is downright terrifying

They had Golf ball size by work (5 miles from home).
Almost every May we have a nice Hail Storm sometimes up to softball size.

At least with a Hurricane you have more than a few minutes of warning. Tornado's/ Hail not so much.

The problem with hurricanes is you can experience the worst for 12 hours or more. And people will never learn that you can't start prepping for one just 24 hours before it hits your area. Supplies are gone and if you have lawn/patio furniture or other outside prep that needs to be taken care of, you be doing it in the rain if you wait until T minus 12 hours.

I hope you are all okay guys.
We are lucky, by and large, bad weather in Scotland tends to just be of a degree that dents one's spirits rather than being a major risk to life or property.

Exactly the same when we had typhoons in China and Australia, difference was in Oz, generally the local bar was the reinforced building to shelter in place :D Golf ball hail storms in Texas really used to mess the trucks up at work so I'm told.

It's May, in Scotland and it's battering down hailstones. It was so hard last night it set off the car alarm. Can someone tell the beloved saint Greta I'd like a word please ?

Just mad for May. Should be racing this weekend if we get the van back after the whole 20 miles, gearbox and clutch gone episode. Will it be wet tyres or slicks ? More to the point, is it shorts or long johns ????

A few years ago we had Hurricane Irma and when the 135 mph winds hit Naples it did a lot of damage. Punched a small hole in the side of my house, I do not know what hit it, but during the winds we saw a palm tree flying horizontal to the ground and 10 feet off the ground. Ripped out of the ground a 10 foot tall grapefruit tree and I have no idea where that ended up....maybe in Scotland?

It's difficult to grasp the anxiety homeowners have when a hurricane hits close. I know tornadoes and severe thunderstorms do as bad if not worse damage but the feeling you have watching the forecasts and seeing it coming closer and having to wait and see if a bad squall will tear things up is gut wrenching. Alcohol and antacids.
