Yesterday we were projected to be, and this was unofficial strictly, number 21 when only the top 20 will a following round after the top 50 got trimmed down to 20.
Well, it is my official opinion that I view that as a challenge for our team. I think we should show them that we shall fly high.

On the latest update we are ranked number 20. We are moving up nicely. Can we be even nicer? :):)
Does anyone know what tasks to focus on to earn the most running time related points when that will be counted and not the running time?

If they have work I think it's "SCC".
"OP" is another good one.
I haven't ran any of the others is a Long Time..

That's #20 on the 'Pure' list, on the overall list TSBT is #24, just behind AMD Users...

scole did you turn those cpu's lose? You had a very nice score yesterday.
pecos, saving those 12 computers still, lol? They will be well rested for when they are needed.
I am going flat out without red lining the computers.

We are still #24 as the first week of Thor Challenge comes to a close. In a day our captain will receive the letter of invitation for the second week of the contest that will be sent to the top 50 teams.
We now have 23 of us working hard toward the same end.
Go TSBT!

Did anyone else notice that some tasks(not Africa) take over 17 hours? I wonder if they are hung up? Should I abort them after 6 hours?
Thank you

I'll chuck the system I have online on this tonight if I get a chance. Not going to break any records ….. but I guess any little helps right. Pity my droids don't seem to pick up any WCG as they can rack up hours but not points.

Alez, tell your droids that hours matter right now, until the final week when it changes to points.

We are still waiting for the official results this morning and as well as the qualifying teams list. Does anyone know it?
The second week is on the way and a safe assumption we are in it with the top 50 teams.

Thank you Megacruncher for the post. Congratulations for the good results TSBT. It was a great team effort and especially nice going scole.
A short celebration is in order and then we need to get going for the second week of the Thor Challenge and reach for that elusive 20th spot.
We can do it if we commit to it. Dust off those machines and turn on the A/C let them roar ahead.
Let's do another within the team challenge!

I think Gridcoin were in first place, but I guess they will be excluded by the competition rules.

#80 Re: THOR Challenge Y5 (2020)
There are actually two competitions: Overall and 'Pure'. Greedcoin (aka 'the Borg') qualifies for the first, but not for the second.
As they wrote at the WCG forum
At the end of the third week of the THOR Challenge, 20 teams will be selected to participate in a fifth week of challenge called THOR Challenge Pure.
Three conditions must be fulfilled in order to be eligible for the THOR Challenge Pure:
1- Not to be a team affiliated (directly or indirectly) with a company, association, foundation, government agency, administration, university, college or school.
2- Not to be a team rewarding the distributed computing of its volunteers financially.
3- Have at least participated in the first week of the THOR Challenge (September 07 to September 13, 2020).
Among the eligible teams, the 20 teams that have accumulated the most Total Run Time during the first 3 weeks of challenge will be selected for the 5th week, the THOR Challenge Pure.
- This fifth week will take place from Monday, November 02, 2020 to Sunday, November 08, 2020.
Invitations will be sent to the Captains of the 20 best teams on Tuesday, October 13, 2020.
The team that wins the THOR Challenge Pure will be the one that have accumulated the most WCG Points in this fifth week.
The teams will be informed of their eligibility to the THOR Challenge Pure at the time of their registration to the THOR Challenge (in this thread and once their registration is official).

There are 22 of us crunching now so we are getting stronger in numbers. Let's keep going hard, we should be able to qualify for the final week.

FB will count any points that we produce during the year (for marathon). Doesn't matter if we were in another challenge or something... points we produced will count to the team we're on thru out the year.

If you are wondering whether we have the resources to fight a FB Sprint and simultaneously compete in this challenge then that's a fair question.
I think priority will be given to the sprint, whatever it is, but we will all spare a bit for WCG. Then of course we have our WCG stalwarts who always crunch it come what may.
