#1 Observations

Post by utopia-i »

Just a few of my observations from recent work, if anyone is interested (PC)

CSG - DNA@home
  • WU limit: 'This computer has reached a limit on tasks in progress' is set to 300 (I think)
    Some uploads are big, 11.56MB
Deadline: for WUs is 4 days
WUs from seconds to just over 2.5 hours (PC i5)
    Quorm is 2
    Points per hour about 80
    There are badges
Frequency of WUs - irregular, smallish batches, 10K or so

Does anyone have SubSetSum details ?
... is that apple pie I smell

I'm running CSG SubsetSum just on my quad core androids currently. Each WU pays 98.

It takes about 4.6 hours per WU on the slowest android, a 1.6 Ghz quad core RK3188.
It takes about 2.4 hours per WU on the fastest android, a 1.8 Ghz quad core RK3288.
It takes about 3.5 hours per WU on a 2.0 Ghz quad core S802.

I have a mix of 8 which in total are churning out about 1000 credits per hour. These are low power CPUs. Each is only pulling about 10 watts.

Looking at some the project top hosts...
E3-1271 v3 @ 3.60GHz taking about 1.9 hours per WU and still pays 98.
i7-3930K CPU @ 3.20GHz taking about 1.9 hours per WU and still pays 98.

Early this morning I looked at the top computer, a I7 3960X IIRC, and the SSS was paying 10k/day. DNA was paying 14k/day on that machine.
