Post by Alez »

nativeBoinc site here http://nativeboinc.org/site/uncat/start

User stats for nativeBoinc are available here http://nativeboinc.org/site/user_stats

Paul is currently 73rd in the world :D
I'm in 130th

Team Stats are here http://nativeboinc.org/site/detail_team/918

TSBT is currently 32nd in the world
seems there are 11 of us running nativeBoinc on ARM devices. I few who have been keeping that quiet... :D
No Janos though so there are a few more out there running official Boinc as well.

No idea why I am not included. I am running Android NativeBoinc on several and I have standard Linux BOINC on 2 more Arm devices.

found 1 user http://nativeboinc.org/site/detail_user/28751

no team and no country though.

My first guess would be that you attached each one to a project individually or did you use Bam ?

I would love to know why I am not on board!

If there is an account or registration, flag or setting I need to tweak just let me know.

No idea, I did nothing special. The only things I did was download nativeBoinc from Google play and have each box linked to my BamStats account, which i use to attach projects. I looked at the boxes on Asteroids and your account looks fine. Of course on BamStats I can check my host lists, it's how I know which one is not working as I have them set to connect every 2 hours. A must have when offshore for me. Check Bam host list - FB - Kid starts kicking things !! Remote IT as it should be :D
Why non of your boxes show up i have no idea.

Tried to check your boxes attached to Enigma - Your hosts are hidden, maybe that is the reason ?

Just a thought, and possibly not a good one.
Are you crunching "new" projects on native - ones that you haven't before.
If its new projects did you remember to sign up and add the team?

Apologies if thats a bit patronising but I've done it myself several times

No, all correct on that front. Normal boinc stats show correctly on all projects.

Further, I have ensured my computers are visible on all projects where arm processors are supported.

I will give it a day or so to update and see if that makes a difference.

I've found boinc stats a bit strange for everything except my main computer. My odroid disappears sometimes with all its credit then comes back the next day, again with all its credit.
Also when I look up my host list on native it shows 7 different hosts which must be my two repeated several times.
It's all a bit of a mystery......

Janos, I suspect it is because your hosts were hidden. Normally your stats are exported by your user name ( CPID ) but here they are specifically doing android hosts. I would imagine that choosing to hide your host list is respected and those stats will not be exported separately.
Paul, multiple hosts is normal for a while. Each time you join a project a new CPID is generated for that device on that project as if it was your first time ( as there is no way of checking if you are a new boinc user or not ( boinc has no central user database )). This new CPID will then be propagated out to the wider boinc world, where it will either take over as your new CPID or it will be substituted for your existing one.
This is why it is important to always use the same email address or you end up with split CPID's. Eventually it will all settle down and all your different host id's will be integrated into one id for each host. Yesterday I had 11 android hosts, today only 9. eventually I will only have the 2. ( except I have another 2 winging there way to me, so connecting them will start the process all over again )
For user control, Boinc is sheer anarchy. Love it.

Thanks Alez. I should probably go back and crunch some projects again to try and get everything under one id.

Ehh!? Whassup? Whatshappening?

Without me doing anything other than signing up my wee lads Kindle HD I seem to have got myself involved in this nativeBoinc thing, albeit in a modest fashion.

Anyone able to advise a confused old-timer as to what is occurring?

Just the usual, crushing those below, catching those above, propelling TSBT to new heights. Crunching 5 v style on cheap and cheerful Android devices. Lots of info on the single board thread.
I can cheer lead, ask Janos for the techy stuff though, he's #13 in the world and rising .
Sent me the links to the kindle devices on each project, interested to post up it's credit/ hr and compare it to the other devices around.

Whilst the toast rack is indeed doing a sterling job, the rate of knots that you passed me irks my rather annoying competitive nature.... I've never been a fan of bringing a knife to a gun fight :D Some would see this as a character flaw, personally, I view it as a lack of commitment. Why bring a knife or a gun for that matter to a gun fight ? Bring a Tornado, loaded for broke , with fuel air incendiaries and cluster munitions. To quote Aliens, I say we nuke it from orbit... it's the only way to be sure :D

I was hoping you might not have noticed that and you would let me bask in my Android charge, I might have to check the back of the sofa and see if I can dig up some more droid tokens :?

Personally I don't mind people in white coats. Most are quite inoffensive, if a tad jobs worth. Some are even quite good at removing foreign objects from your body, but I do admit that the ones that insist you wear a jacket with the zips at the back have no fashion sense at all.... I mean, come on , who wears zips at the back of their jacket, it's so inefficient having to find someone else to zip you up when it's cold :D
