Re: Linux family comparision
I need some recommendations. Which Linux version is the fastest one with a GUI installation procedure? I'm monitoring some NFS@Home Linux computers, arch Linux seems the one but I do struggle to find the GUI installation version. What about mint? Please assume the Linux will only be used to run Boin...

Re: Where are Everybody ???
As i stated before, mostly on NFS@Home, where now help is needed on the big siever to sieve two of the "Gang of 31" composites from the 60's table. Sometimes i just do some prime hunting on private servers.

Last year we went back to Sicily but for 10 days in Castel di Tusa and for a few days in Palermo. I would like to live in Sicily when I get to retire. Houses are cheap, community fantastic but the best is the food and weather.

Re: NFS@Home support
Numbers 2,1123+ and 2,1124+, respectively, former sieving and latter queued. I haven't asked Greg how further we will sieving but I suppose both to 5000M. 2,1123+ is up to S2p1123_4403746_0 (front end, 4403M).
Each wu is sized 2000. So (5000-100)/0.002=2.45M wus.

Hey guys. We are now sieving two integers from the cunningham tables added back in the 60's. See details here: https://escatter11.fullerton.edu/nfs/forum_thread.php?id=550&postid=2360#2360 Any boost or raid for a week or so is much appreciated (16eV5 - the 130 credits wu ones). Please note if yo...

Re: NFS@Home support
Was wondering if you guys could give NFS@Home a boost on the 16e small, only in particular with two integers" 911_97m1" and "3_10_300m1". They are both important to respective projects. First will have 184,000 Wu's, not sure yet about the second one, I suspect more than 300,000 w...

Indeed it was a fantastic challenge. I've been running my old laptop 24/7 jumping from the big Siever to the 16e small, where most of the time the datasets are used as baseline to improve GPU client (post processing, done outside boinc remit).

Started back in the 90's using distributed computing even before Boinc. Someone at university was running SETI. Quick online search and lots of projects to start with. My biggest contribution at that time was for United Devices and some math projects. Still a big fan of the standalone clients. Think...
