Welcome :)
So what interests you in BOINC? The science, the tinkering, or mad amounts of credit?

Hi Rabbie Welcome to the team.
#5 Re: Welcome to Rabbie
A bit of everything. Rosetta to make me feel good about helping a valuable science project. PrimeGrid because I have always been fascinated by prime numbers and Bitcoin Utopia because I have a well developed competitive streak.
I will keep the list of projects under review and change my selections according to how I feel

Hey Rabbie. Welcome. I'm biased but you have found the best team to join.
We might not be many in numbers but we do enjoy kicking butt (think UK BOINC)

A competitive streak eh? Well we'd love to have you hang with us in the team challenges. We're currently in the WCG challenge. A NSF challenge starts in 3 days. It's a good way to sample different projects. Anyway, welcome to the team. :)

Since TSBT has joined the challenge, all you have to do is join the NSF project, set your team to TSBT and crunch NSF during the challenge. It starts 2015-03-15 00:00 UTC and ends 2015-03-20 00:00 UTC. Any NSF credits earned during that challenge count.
The NSF project home page is here http://escatter11.fullerton.edu/nfs/index.php
The BOINCStats NSF challenge page is here http://boincstats.com/en/stats/challenge/team/chat/652 if you want to keep track of yours or TSBT's progress.
The TSBT forum page where we yak about it is here http://www.dunadd.co.uk/seti/forum/view ... 149&t=2563
After you join the NSF project, be sure to set your team to TSBT and unless you have at least 2 GB RAM per CPU core, you should change your NFS@Home preferences default profile settings to only crunch the lasievee application.
And if you want to get really nerdy, join the WUProp project here...http://wuprop.boinc-af.org/index.php. It uses no (extremely little) CPU resource, provides useful BOINC project app statistics and has a badge set that we brag shamelessly about in the TSBT WUProp Badges Bragging thread http://www.dunadd.co.uk/seti/forum/view ... 116&t=2527

Thanks for the replies. I have now started running NSF on my computers and will stop all other projects when the challenge starts.

I do not harass anyone into joining team challenges. I'll ask politely if they wish to join to challenge. It's perfectly fine if they don't wish to participate. But I will send over our Black Ops friends to get embarrassing photos of them and if they still refuse to join, I post them on instagram. Technically, that's blackmail, not harassment. :pirate:

And I was merely jesting, we do need someone to rally the troups and encourage some participation!

whatever happened to grog, cutlasses and now tasers to rally the troops. I blame the PC brigade

I've noticed your WCG challenge numbers have been dropping over the past 24 hours Mr. Silver.

Oh, it's St. Patrick's Day celebration weekend and I don't really have time for all this blackmail business. Instead I'll offer an evening of food and grog, seriously. Be at the Flying Shamrock Irish Pub, 115 N John St, Goldsboro, NC between 6pm and 9pm Saturday, March 14th. Food and drink is on me.
