#1 Forum Upgrade
The forum software has been upgraded to the latest build of the phpBB forum system.
Unfortunately, the new forum version is not compatible with our custom styling so please bear with us as we upgrade the look of the forum.
All functionality remains very similar to before - please report any issues here.
Thank you
Janos

Scottish Gaelic is now available as a language option. You can set your preference in your User Control Panel to see the main headers, text and buttons in GÃ idhlig.

I've installed an extension to give more post editing options (bbcode). Please let me know if you have any issues.

I find this version harder to read ( I know I'm moaning about your hard work, sorry ) I find it especially hard to read the red colour to determine whether there is a new post or not. I guess I just really liked our old style. Guess I will get used to it.

I don't get it, this is almost identical to the previous style.Alez wrote:I find this version harder to read ( I know I'm moaning about your hard work, sorry ) I find it especially hard to read the red colour to determine whether there is a new post or not. I don't either, but I am finding it harder to read on my laptop. Maybe the background is brighter or something ? Seems to be a lot of glare or not enough contrast ? Don't worry about it, I will get used to it rather than moaning.
Would it be possible to add the full navigation to the bottom of the page as well as at the top ? ie.

Feel free to specify a different style from the official phpBB database. I've no issue installing several.

I could take a look but only if it is a straight forward style import. I don't want to give you extra work. If you have to customise each style to work with the customisations you have already applied, then tough for me.
It seems to be very difficult to determine which posts have a black circle compared to which have a red circle in the main forum page, but like I said, probabily just me or the screen on my laptop.

Each style install will need to have some tweaks. So yes, not as quick as upload style and enable.
The graphics between this version and the previous are almost identical. Were you using this style before? The one with this "Coo" header?

yes 3.1.6 with we_universal

#15 Re: Forum Upgrade
What we were using before was serenity here which unfortunately is only available so far for 3.0.14. It was based on subsilver2.
we_universal ( like just about every 3.1.16 style ) is based on prosilver. I seem to remember the first time we changed the styles I hated prosilver so probabily just my personnal preferences clouding the issue, certainly not a complaint about what you have acheived.
So far everything seems to be working as it should. The new insert URL's etc are far better than we had before. There seems to be a lot more post effects available etc.

Ah, you were one of the six people using the serenity based alternative style. Yes, I tried to upgrade this version but as you see it isn't compatible...yet.

See, I knew it was just me being weird. I don't think there is a subsilver2 based alternative either. Not even sure if the standard subsilver is available yet. Nevermind, I'll just have to learn to use it. A bit like Lubuntu and Ubuntu. I love the Ldx desktop, I hate unity but I can still use it.Janos wrote:Ah, you were one of the six people using the serenity based alternative style. There certainly seems to be far more functionality available in the upgrade. Better take a look round the admin section and familiarise myself. You'll be proud to know I have downloaded the manual

Is that the post preview ? Works for me on Firefox, but I think it is now above rather than below. Which browser are you on ?
Let us check it out. Cheers for reporting Dirk.

When these are in the table the preview gets 'chopped off'.

Ah, these are simple tables. You can only set the number of rows and columns; and a header. Other formatting such as table width and borders are not supported. Do you need this functionality?
