Table support

Unread post by Dirk Broer » Fri Apr 03, 2015 11:39 am

Why doesn't this bbcode enabled forum support tables?

Consider this piece of information (still under construction) at http://www.amdusers.com/forum/showthrea ... bone-Black
It comes out here as:

When you want to use the Beaglebone Black for BOINC there are a few things to consider.
  • The CPU is a Texas Instruments Sitara AM335x, which is for all practical purposes an ARM Cortex-A8 core.
    (x depending on the model/revision. In the case of the Beaglebone Black Rev.C it is a Sitara AM3359).
  • Not all OS-es run on an ARM Cortex-A8, and those who do are not are not all supported by BOINC -at least not officially.
    You may have to compile the client yourself. Do not forget the set the options specific for an ARM Cortex-A8:
    CFLAGS="-march=armv7-a -mtune=cortex-a8" and
    CFLAGS="$CFLAGS -mfloat-abi=hard -mfpu=neon -ffast-math -O3"
  • Having built a BOINC client yourself on your OS of choice does not guarantee that you can download work from a project -at least not automatically.
    You may have to use the anonymous platform option.
The standard OS for the Beaglebone is the very lightweight Ångström Linux and to my astonishment it does not make full use of the NEON floating point capabilities, giving the BBB a very low value for floating point MIPS as obtained through the benchmarks in the BOINC-client (184 Floating Point MIPS).

Let's look at the BOINC projects that offer applications for the ARM Cortex-A8, so you do not have to compile them yourself (If you do, do not forget to compile the applications with the same CFLAGS values as mentioned for the BOINC-client!)
[tr] [th]Project[/th] [th]Supported CPU architecture[/th] [/tr] [tr] [td]Now follows lots of lines[/td] [td]that look like this is all flat text[/td] [/tr]
[indent] does not work too...

That is a very good question Dirk.
I've got no idea what the answer is but it remains a good question :D

phpBB does not fully support BBcode. One of things missing is support for tables. :(

There is a mod available which allows for table support within phpBB. Is there enough interest to warrant me faffing with the code?

Tables
[table=30 tablebg][th=50 textleft]Title1[/th][th=50 textleft]Title2[/th]
[td=null]Is[/td][td=null]For[/td]
[td=null]This[/td][td=null]You[/td]
[td=null]Good[/td][td=null]Guys[/td]
[td=null]Enough[/td][td=null]?[/td][/table]

UP to 6 columns, 10 rows at a click of a button. Guess just cut and paste if you want more. Will this be acceptable :?:
Smilies are also coming along inside a scroll box so no more clicking through 7 pages and the Header has tartan :roll:

Tables are updated to work now in 3.2 but why settle for standard ?

Card Memory SP GLOPS DP GLOPS Watts MSRP
GTX 1070 8GB 6500 203 (1:32 ?) 150 $379
GTX 1080 8GB 8227 257 (1:32 ?) 180 $599
Tesla P100 16GB 10600 5300 300 (if you have to ask, you can't afford it)

Table Title
[table=90 tablebg][th=17 textleft]TCard[/th][th=16 textleft]Memory[/th][th=17 textleft]SP GLOPS[/th][th=16 textleft]DP GLOPS[/th][th=17 textleft]Watts[/th][th=16 textleft]MSRP[/th]
[td=null]GTX 1070[/td][td=null]8GB[/td][td=null]6500[/td][td=null]203 (1:32 ?)[/td][td=null]150[/td][td=null]$379[/td]
[td=null]GTX 1080[/td][td=null]8GB[/td][td=null]8227[/td][td=null]257 (1:32 ?)[/td][td=null]180[/td][td=null]$599[/td]

Have you refreshed your browsers ? Good chance you are using a cached page as you should definitely see both table and new smilies. F5, reload page or options clear cache for most browsers. If you guys still can't see let me know what browser. Definitely works on both Firefox and chrome.

Can you guys see thead, tbody and center after the embed video link as a test ?

Also as I can see the table icon whilst logged in as yourselves can you try something stupid for me and try clicking to the right of ab and see if you get a table just incase for some bizare reason it is there but the icon is not displayed ? Stupid request but just reading the extension history notes and that seems to have been an issue at one point due to conflict with the abbc3 upgrade I am running on the posting menu.

I can see those three after the embed video but no table after ab. Tested in IE, Chrome, Opera. Currently using Firefox. Smilies appeared to be fixed. :!: :|No big deal, I never have or likely to use a table. Exit stage Right :arrow:

It has been noted that after posting a lot of the time you get a blank screen. The posts always go through though. Working on it. I've purchased a server update that should help.
Can't understand why you have no table as if I log in with your permissions I can see the table option. Working on that to. Have ruled out a conflict with the size of the index bar as you did not find the table there but not displayed. I'll keep on it as I know you want tables and it's very frustrating that I have them working but seems peeps can't see them. There is a new version of the extension due out. Not giving up, give me time.

Woooo Hooooo :text-woo:

Issue had nothing to do with permissions. There was an error in the CSS coding which meant that the button was not displaying for non admins. Can finally strike this one off my list. :happy-cheerleadersmileyguy:
