Let's run this one. Last challenge before the Pentathlon. And I need to finally earn a 5 year badge.
#3 Re: 24/5-28/5 CRUNCHATHLON WCG [MONTHLY RUN - RACE XVIII]
Just an FYI, run, report and validate 5 to 10 wus on each machine. Keep your cache small until the computer is trusted, then load up. Several projects don't require a wingman after the machine is trusted, so validation is immediate. I'm currently doing that with Ebola.scole250 wrote:Let's run this one. In case anyone want's to bunker for this comp, the Ebola WUs give a 10 day deadline and you can load them now. Mapping Cancer Markers only gives 7 days. Will be almost 2 more days before you can bunker that.

Anyone else running it?

Good timing. I have enough Zika cached to get my "green" badge and the 8500 more hours that I need. I just changed teams and went dark. You'll only get the 1 bunker dump because I'll be at my max for days ... heaven forbid that I turn a badge blue - yuk

Only on droid if you can get the damn .png files to load....... FFS, I want units, not graphics. Dump the graphics and get with the science.

All but one android had WCG transfer hung up. I connected to the android using Boinc Manager, aborted all the transfers, used Boinc Manager to shut down the Boinc Client on the android and power cycled the android. All of them now getting Zika WUs. WUs taking about 19 hours on my slowest android, RK3188.Alez wrote:Only on droid if you can get the damn .png files to load....... FFS, I want units, not graphics. A little more than an hour in and we've jumped out into 1st with over a 800k lead on Gridcoin. Not a bad start. 8)

Great start boys.
Since my pc threw its toys out of the pram last night I suspect I won't have contributed much. I think it's back on track now though.

BTW, nice drop Sphynx.
Bryan, not all of your WCG badges are emerald and never will be. You need at least a couple sapphire badges to add balance to those gold ones

Unless they come out with a bunch more projects so I can get WCG to 5M then I'll have no choice but to take one up to a multi year badge. It will ruins the whole color scheme but I'm not ready to do that yet.
You guys did really well on the bunker bombs! I hope it holds off the bad guys.

I'm telling you, a 100 year CEP2 would be a prize in your badge stable.
As for holding off the bad guys, we are gonna need some help I think. That smiley is fantastic! I love it! We should get that for SUSA, I could use it every day.

We'll take your word for it. Better stay in the top 500 though because that's where the individual kudos stop.

Well we held 1st for over 24 hours but Gridcoin is like the Borg. Lifeless, no personality just a machine that keeps coming. LAF isn't far behind them either. Still not too shabby for us. :) How do those new WCG badges look?
#25 Re: 24/5-28/5 CRUNCHATHLON WCG [MONTHLY RUN - RACE XVIII]
Borg...exactly! I was thinking the same thing. They have been putting up over a million/day for a while and hopefully they will stay right there when the Pentathlon starts.scole250 wrote:Well we held 1st for over 24 hours but Gridcoin is like the Borg. I just crossed over 9 yrs 38 days on Ebola with the last update and hitting 10 years by the end of the challenge looks possible...at least it does if you include the pendings. 8) ZIKA is probably gonna have to wait for a bit.

After 2 days we've been passed by the Borg...I mean Grtidcoin, LAF, SETI.Germany and SETI.USA. Thanks Mumps. Still mad that I passed you on the SAT challenge, eh? Still a good running for TSBT.
I was hoping for a my first 5 year badge on Ebola but I think I committed too many cores to the beta and special denge 2 WUs they released. At least I have those badges.
